Adobe Premiere Pro is Getting a Bunch of New Generative AI Features to Super Charge Your Workflow

There's no shortage of generative AI features available on a variety of platforms and applications that we use today. So much so that it's safe to argue that not all gen-AI features are useful. However, Adobe has some different plans because the company has just introduced a slew of new generative AI features for Adobe Premiere Pro, and these are surely going to make your overall experience a lot better.

Video editors rejoice as generative AI is coming to make your experience with Adobe Premiere Pro a lot better

Adobe has just shown a preview of generative AI workflows that will be coming to Adobe Premiere Pro as beta features later this year. The features are powered by a new video model for Firefly, which is Adobe's in-house matching learning model. You can look at how these features work below:

The free features that Adobe Premiere Pro will receive are described below so you can better understand what you should expect later this year.

  • Generative Extend: As the name suggests, this feature will allow you to make your clips longer. This will make it easier for the user to time edits and add smoother transitions. Users will also be able to extend "silent" portions of audio to create ambient "room tone" to smooth out audio edits.
  • Object Addition and Removal: With this feature, you will be able to select and track objects as well as replace them. You will be able to remove unwanted objects or even add them.
  • Text-to-video: This feature is going to generate new footage with the help of text-based prompts or even reference images. The clips can then be used to ideate and create storyboards or B-rolls to add to your live-action footage. Something that a lot of people will use going forward.

All three of the new features coming to Adobe Premiere Pro are really exciting. If you are looking to make sure that your workflow is as smooth as possible, then using these features is going to make the overall experience a lot easier and more convenient. At the moment, Adobe has not revealed the pricing, and we are going to have to wait before more details are available

As someone who has a passion for video editing, I am really looking forward to Adobe Premiere Pro getting these generative AI features. I believe that these features will not be wasted.
