Nonetheless, the design is premium, and the headset costs a lot more than the competition. A designer created a stunning AirPods Max concept inspired by the Vision Pro.

Apple's AirPods Max launched almost three years ago, and it is due for an upgrade. The company will potentially unveil the second-gen model with minor design tweaks but will feature various improvements on the inside. It could house efficient processing and connectivity chips for a seamless experience. Moreover, the device could come with new audio features that Apple showcased at its WWDC 2023 event. The new AirPods Max concept envisions a design similar to the Vision Pro, with the headband being the most prominent addition.
We have previously covered how third-party accessory makers are working on premium accessories for the Vision Pro. Seemingly, the company could offer a modular design with swappable headbands. Take note that these are mere speculations at this point, as the final design decision rests with Apple. The AirPods Max concept is created by Parker Ortolani, which highlights a handful of upgrades that you can expect from the next model.
The AirPods Max concept features a redesigned headband with a dial that looks a lot like the Vision Pro headband. The dial can adjust the band according to a user's preference and size. Furthermore, the AirPods Max concept envisions a foldable design. In contrast to the current model, the concept version would aid in enhanced portability. Since the design is foldable, Apple would have to redesign the charging case as well.
The concept also features a connector on one of the sides for power, similar to the Vision Pro headset. Lastly, the AirPods Max concept is shown in four different color options inspired by the MacBook Air series - Midnight, Silver, Starlight, and Space Gray. The AirPods Max is currently available in a wide range of pastel color options, and the upgrade could feature additional color choices. As for internals, the next AirPods Max could feature upgraded H2 and U1 chips for enhanced connectivity with support for additional functionality.
