AMD's CEO has said that the Radeon RX 9070 XT "RDNA 4" GPU has been a huge success for them, witnessing a 10x sales increase versus the prior gen.

AMD RDNA 4 Is A Huge Success For Team Red, Radeon RX 9070 XT Not Only The No.1 Selling GPU But Also Witnesses 10x Sales Versus Prior Radeon Generations

AMD's RDNA 4 GPUs have impressed with their performance capabilities and the great value that they have to offer to the PC gaming community. The result is that the series has now become the biggest hit versus the prior generations of Radeon GPUs.

In an interview with ASUS's China Manager, Tony Yu, AMD's CEO confirmed that the series was a big hit, and it surpassed the first-week sales figures versus the prior generation of Radeon GPUs by 10X.

I'm very proud of the team on RDNA 4 [....]. Because when we do a new architectural generation, we have to decide its primary characteristics many years in advance, and for RDNA 4, what we really wanted to do is bring the best gaming capability to a very, let's call it good price point, so that we could get more gamers to have access to this technology.

Sometimes you think, of course everyone likes a very very high-end GPU but it's not so many people can access it so 9070 XT has been a fantastic success.

It's the No.1 selling for all of the AMD Radeon generations for first week sales is the by far 10x higher than previous generations. And we like to see people happy. People are very happy with 9070 XT.

We have already seen the Radeon RX 9070 XT taking up the top spot among various retailers across the globe, with some even selling over 5000 units on launch day, a number that far exceeds the sales volume of NVIDIA's recent RTX 50 GPUs, which are not only facing supply issues but are also priced way above their MSRPs due to non-availability. The same is also the case with the Radeon RX 9070 XT, but despite that, you still get better value and performance backed by 16 GB of VRAM on these RDNA 4 offerings.

There was even a report of AMD selling over 200,000 Radeon RX 9000 GPUs since launch. However, that turned out to be inaccurate as AMD confirmed that it made no such statement. However, we can still very much believe that the official number, whatever it may be, is a huge one and a big win for Team Red. The company also managed to hit almost 50% market share in Japan with its Radeon RX 9070 GPUs for the first time.

We are going to no problem, we are very excited about it and we are increasing the manufacturing so we can have more gamers to have access.

As the demand for RDNA 4 GPUs increases, Dr. Lisa Su also confirmed that they are increasing the manufacturing of their latest GPUs so that more gamers can have access to them. This would lead to better supply and, in turn, better prices for gamers. Lisa Su also confirmed that more RDNA 4 GPU action is on the way and that might probably be hinting at the Radeon RX 9060 series, which will be arriving in 16 GB and 8 GB flavors in the coming months.
