AMD's Radeon RX 7650 GRE is expected to utilize the same Navi 33 GPU as the Radeon RX 7600 XT, making it more or less a refresh of existing entry-level SKUs.
AMD's Radeon RX 7650 GRE Will Retain Navi 33 GPU Core, Third Graphics Card With The Same "RDNA 3" Core Config
AMD was previously mentioned to release a brand new graphics card known as the Radeon RX 7650 GRE which would be based on the RDNA 3 architecture. New reports from Benchlife now suggest that this part will be a refresh in the existing Navi 33 SKU lineup, featuring similar core specs to the existing parts.
The AMD Radeon RX 7650 GRE is said to utilize the Navi 33 GPU which means that it will be the third SKU to use this chip for the desktop discrete graphics card segment. Currently, AMD offers the Radeon RX 7600 series with the same core configuration of 32 compute units, 2048 cores, 64 AI accelerator cores, and 18 Gbps memory running across a 128-bit bus. The RX 7600 XT comes with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory while the RX 7600 comes with 8 GB of memory. The XT variant is faster in terms of clock speeds and also comes with a higher TDP.

But for those who were expecting the AMD Radeon RX 7650 GRE GPU to feature a cut-down Navi 32 GPU SKU, well they are in for a letdown as the company is going to utilize the same Navi 33 GPU with similar specs if not further cut-down. Considering that 8 GB is the baseline for games these days, we can expect a similar or 16 GB variant on the same 128-bit bus interface.
The source also highlights that the AMD Radeon RX 7650 GRE GPU is meant to replace the Radeon RX 6750 GRE series and as such, should be launched as a China-only variant. The card is being said to be a "Region-Limited" offering so it's highly likely that US or EU markets won't see this graphics card at all.
This also changes the rumors of the CES 2025 launch as that's mostly a global event and since the RX 7650 GRE is going to be an Asia-Pacific variant, it should not be unveiled at CES but rather at a separate event in China. The card will be positioned at an attractive value but we can't say for sure if it will be able get that much attraction considering AMD will also be unveiling its next-generation RDNA 4 GPUs which target mainstream and budget segments, at the same time.
