AMD is reportedly preparing a new graphics card based on its RDNA 4 architecture, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, to offer even better perf/$.

AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE To Offer Even Better Gaming Value Than The Radeon RX 9070 Graphics Card

So far, AMD has launched two graphics cards within its RDNA 4 lineup, the Radeon RX 9070 XT and the Radeon RX 9070. These graphics cards feature the Navi 48 GPU core with 16 GB VRAM and come at prices of $599 and $549 US, respectively. AMD has stated that the Radeon RX 9070 has been a major success for them and is outselling RTX 50 GPUs at several retailers. But the Red Team isn't stopping with its RDNA 4 action.

ITHome reports that AMD is working on a brand-new Navi 48-based RDNA 4 graphics card, which will be called the Radeon RX 9070 GRE. The GRE or "Great Radeon Edition" series of graphics cards have mostly been confined to Asia Pacific regions such as China, but there were a few instances in which the cards were sold globally such as the RX 6750 GRE series and the RX 7900 GRE. Now, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE seems to be following suit.

As per various chat logs with retailers and their sources, ITHome managed to find out that the Red Team's Radeon RX 9070 GRE will be offered at an attractive price point, offering better gaming value than the Radeon RX 9070 and also offering a lower price tag to those who can't afford the XT variant. The Radeon RX 9070 GRE may likely target a sub-$500 US price tag between $449 - $499.

In terms of specifications, it is being reported that the Radeon RX 9070 GRE might feature a further cut-down Navi 48 core with 192-bit bus memory and 12 GB of VRAM. This should compete against NVIDIA's RTX 5070, which also offers 12 GB of VRAM. But we can't say for sure what the final specs might be unless more credible information arrives. With that said, the launch of this graphics card is expected to take place before the Radeon RX 9060 XT (Navi 44), which should be arriving later this quarter.
