The non-X Ryzen 9600 is reported to feature the same TDP as the Ryzen 9600X but will at least include a stock heatsink inside the box.
AMD Ryzen 5 9600 is rumored to launch in late January 2025, the first Zen 5 desktop CPU after the initial batch
It has been a couple of months, and we only have four SKUs in the desktop Zen 5 lineup. This will soon change as AMD has reportedly prepared another budget SKU. It's unknown whether more SKUs will join this particular CPU, but we can expect only one model scheduled for an early 2025 launch.
Today, the popular leaker @AnhPhuH posted on X that the AMD Ryzen 5 9600 will launch in late January 2025. Hoang has a pretty good record of accurate leaks regarding launches, and this might be true as well since we haven't had any announcements about more Zen 5 desktop SKUs.

It's unlikely that AMD will continue with just four SKUs in the entire Ryzen 9000 series (excluding the X3D chips), and hence, just like its predecessors, one should expect more SKUs to arrive soon. This includes not only the Ryzen 9600 but also more non-X editions. However, at this point in time, only the Ryzen 5 9600 seems to be confirmed, and it would feature lower clock speeds than the Ryzen 5 9600X.

However, the TDP is said to be retained at 105W since the leaker says so. There is one drastic change, though. Unlike the Ryzen 5 9600X, the Ryzen 5 9600 box will also include the Wraith Stealth CPU cooler, which will help users save on the aftermarket CPU cooler and invest more in other PC parts. If this comes out to be accurate, then one can save both the CPU and cooler compared to buying the Ryzen 5 9600X.
The pricing hasn't been revealed yet, but expect it to be somewhere between $230-$250 since the Ryzen 5 9600X launched for $269. With frequent drops in existing Ryzen 9000 processor prices, this could go lower after the launch. At the same time frame, we can expect more Ryzen 9000 processors, particularly the higher-end X3D chips. We already have the Ryzen 7 9800X3D but the Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D are due.
