ASRock's latest budget offering for the Ryzen 9000X3D processors is now out on shelves for purchase.
Japanese Retailer Yodobashi Lists ASRock B650M Pro X3D WiFi for Sale at 26,640 Yen, Offering 'Better' Compatibility with Ryzen X3D processors
AMD's board partners already offer Ryzen X3D support on their latest 800-series and 600-series models through BIOS updates. Some vendors, like ASRock, are trying their best to offer cheaper solutions for the latest Ryzen 9000X3D processors, like the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D. As these processors can deliver leading gaming and productivity performance without putting too much stress on the VRM, one can use a budget 800 or 600-series chipset motherboard to save money while achieving optimal performance numbers.
Last month, ASRock unveiled its latest offering, called the "B650M Pro X3D" and "B650M Pro X3D WiFi" motherboards, aimed at better compatibility with the Ryzen 7000 and 9000X3D processors. Today, we saw the WiFi model listed on a Japanese retailer called Yodobashi at 26,640 Yen, which roughly translates to US$179.
The B650M Pro X3D/WiFi is identical to the B850M Pro RS motherboard but has a different label. The rest of the stuff is the same, including design, component support, and even compatibility. The B650M Pro X3D won't necessarily increase the performance of X3D processors and will be as good as any other B850 chipset motherboard.
While the motherboard uses a B650 chipset, it is closer to the B850 chipset with native PCI-E 5.0 support for both the graphics cards and SSDs. Traditionally, not all B650 chipset motherboards feature PCI-E 5.0 support, but this one does as it is a refreshed design. ASRock B650M Pro X3D WiFi is an affordable solution that also allows CPU and memory overclocking.
It boasts an 8+2+1 power phase design and supports Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 processors, including both X3D and non-X3D processors. The board can support up to 256 GB of memory capacity and up to 8000 MT/s of memory speed. Packed with decent connectivity features such as WiFi 6E, LAN 2.5 GbE, and multiple USB A and Type C ports, it's enough for most users, but its micro-ATX form factor may not necessarily be for everyone.
Remember that it's just like any other AM5 motherboard in terms of compatibility with the Ryzen X3D processors, and if you want powerful overclocking features and a bigger form factor, you may want to look at mid-range and high-end X870/X870E motherboards.
