ASRock has just announced full support for AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X3D & 9900X3D 3D V-Cache CPUs on its AM5 motherboards.
ASRock's AM5 Motherboards Are Fully Prepped To Support AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D & 9900X3D 3D V-Cache CPUs, Latest AGESA 1.2.0.3a BIOS Rolls Out
AMD's high-end Zen 5-based 3D V-Cache CPUs are launching next month and ASRock is giving its AM5 users plenty of time to update their motherboards with the latest BIOS which will offer full support for these chips.
The company announced that it has rolled out the newest AMD AGESA 1.2.0.3a BIOS across its entire AM5 motherboard lineup, which includes models of the X870E, X870, B850, B840, X8670E, X670, B650E, B650, A620A and A620 series. That's quite a huge list of motherboards, and it's great to see ASRock roll out the new BIOS patch for each respective motherboard.
One interesting thing that we noticed on ASRock's BIOS support page is that the company states that users who update to the AGESA 1.2.0.3a BIOS release should also update their chipset driver to version 7.01.08.129. Currently, the latest version of the AM5 chipset driver available at AMD.com is version 6.10.17.152, so it looks like we might have to wait for the newer version to be officially available. However, ASRock is offering the new chipset drivers through its support page here.
We recently reported a few retail listings of the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 16-Core & Ryzen 9 9900X3D 12-core 3D V-Cache CPUs. The chips were listed for around $700 & $600 US, respectively, which is in line with the last-gen 3D V-Cache prices.
AMD already offers the best gaming performance out of the current CPU stack, with the likes of its Ryzen 7 9800X3D dominating both sales & performance charts. For those who are looking for higher-end solutions that pack more cores while retaining the same gaming prowess, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D & 9900X3D would be good options, and we can't wait to test them out ourselves next month.
