Assassin’s Creed Origins Tops UK Sales Charts, But Numbers Aren’t Impressive; Wolfensten 2 Sells Less Than Predecessor

Assassin's Creed Origins

Assassin's Creed Origins, the newest entry in the series developed by Ubisoft, has finally been released in all regions, and the game debuted nicely in the UK, where it managed to reach the first place in the sales charts.

According to Chart-Track, the Ubisoft developed game, however, has sold on par with Assassin's Creed Syndicate, so the numbers aren't particularly impressive for now. Revenues are higher thanks to the more expensive Gold and Gods editions.

Super Mario Odyssey also made an impressive debut, becoming the biggest launch for a Nintendo Switch so far, beating Zelda Breath of the Wild. Another debut, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, isn't as impressive as expected, as the game sold half what the original game did in its debut week.

Here's the full chart for the week.

  1. Assassin's Creed: Origins
  2. Super Mario Odyssey
  3. FIFA 18
  4. Wolfenstein 2
  5. Gran Turismo: Sport
  6. Grand Theft Auto 5
  7. Destiny 2
  8. South Park: The Fractured But Whole
  9. Middle-earth: Shadow of War
  10. WWE 2K18

Having received the review code only a little time before launch, we still have to publish a full Assassin's Creed Origins review, but the game definitely looks and plays great in the first few hours. Super Mario Odyssey, on the other hand, has been fully reviewed by Dave, who awarded the game with an almost perfect score.

Super Mario Odyssey is the best 3D Mario game. It just is. Level design, the way Mario moves and jumps, collectibles, it’s all just… Practically perfect. This is the Mario game I’ve been wanting for so long, and I already know I’m going straight for 100% completion.
