NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090 GPU has reached its first overclocking milestone of 3.5 GHz, achieved by ASUS's in-house overclocker, SAFEDISK.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU Breaks Records With 3.5 GHz LN2 OC Using ASUS's XOC BIOS
It's been almost a month since the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 launched and while its availability has been a major concern for gamers, overclockers who have access to these cards are enjoying record breaking performance.
ASUS's in-house overclocker, Safedisk, managed to secure top spots in various benchmarks using an ASUS-branded NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. The GPU was overclocked under LN2 & with some tweaks, the card managed to hit a maximum frequency of 3480 MHz on the core and an impressive 34 Gbps memory speed across the 512-bit bus interface. This resulted in some massive performances which can be seen in the submissions below:
- WR in 3DMark Port Royal (43,515)
- WR in 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme (58,393)
- WR in Unigine Superposition 1080P Xtreme (34,295)
- WR in UNIGINE Superposition 8K (23,311)
- GFP in 3DMark Time Spy Extreme (28,717)
- GFP in GPUPI 32B (41sec, 673ms)
We also compare the LN2 OC results with our tests conducted on a custom RTX 5090 graphics card:

ASUS is expected to take things up a notch with further overclocking results in the future as higher-wattage BIOSs become available for the flagship ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 GPUs.
