The memory-overclocking monster, ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E APEX, for AMD processors is about to hit the shelves at the beginning of next month.
ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E APEX Scheduled to Launch on 4th April, Providing Premium Specs and Features for AMD Ryzen 7000/8000/9000 lineup at $749
AMD's board partners, including ASUS, unveiled their latest 800 series offerings at the beginning of this year and while the majority of the motherboard models have hit the shelves, some are still pending. This includes the ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E APEX model, which is one of the best memory overclockers on the market.
The motherboard is now set to launch on 4th April, which is just roughly two weeks from now, and will carry a hefty price tag of $749. This isn't for regular PC builders but for enthusiasts, aiming to maximize the potential of their system through overclocking and stuff. ROG Crosshair X870E APEX has previously pushed G.Skill DDR5 memory to 10600 MT/s and this wasn't on a single memory module but rather on a 2x 24GB kit.

This is quite impressive, particularly for the AM5 platform, as pushing to such a high speed isn't easy and requires excellent support both by the CPU and motherboard. ASUS lists 9600 MT/s as the official memory support on ROG Crosshair X870E APEX with Ryzen 8000 processors, but with correct configuration, the memory can hit higher speeds as we saw with the G.Skill memory.
The ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E APEX brings a solid VRM with 18+2+2 power stages, offering incredible overclocking potential for the CPU and big heatsinks to keep the components cool. It boasts modern connectivity features, PCI-E 5.0 support natively for both PCI-E x16 and M.2 slots, and offers onboard troubleshooting features.
Through a DIY-friendly design, it aims to offer a convenient and hassle-free PC building experience and includes features like Q-Release for GPU, Q-Release for M.2, Q-Antenna, Q-Dashboard, FlexKey button, and more. The ASUS Quick Release mechanism for the GPUs has been in controversy recently as it has resulted in PCI-E damage on GPUs. However, we recently saw ASUS updating the Q-Release mechanism by removing the metal piece from the PCI-E x16 slot.
Surprisingly, it was the ROG Crosshair X870E APEX that showed the difference, but at that time, the Newegg page didn't reveal the pricing or availability information. Users can pre-order the motherboard starting today at $749 and can get the shipment starting 4th April.
