Colorful has demoed its Shadow DDR5 CUDIMM memory modules with over 10,000 MT/s speeds possible on high-end Z890 motherboards.
Colorful to introduce Shadow Series CUDIMM DDR5 Memory, hitting over 10,000 MT/s speeds
Colorful is about to reveal its brand-new CUDIMM (Clocked Unbuffered Dual In-Line Memory Module), keeping the company on par with other brands that have recently revealed their own high-end CUDIMM kits. Not only does the CUDIMM promise high memory speed but this standard also brings Error Correcting Code for uncorrupted data.

In a new demonstration, the Colorful's "Shadow" Series CUDIMM was overclocked to a whopping 10,000 MT/s of transfer speed. As visible from the CPU-Z window, the DRAM frequency reaches a staggering 5000.3MHz or 10000 MT/s of data transfer speed, which is probably the second time we have seen a RAM kit reach such a high speed(the first one is the KLEVV DDR5 ), and with better CL timings.
As it appears from another window, we can see the specifications of the Colorful Shadow DDR5 CUDIMM memory kit used for the overclocking. It is an XMP-compatible 9600 MT/s memory kit that runs at 44 CAS at 1.5V. The memory can run at 9200 MT/s with 1.45V but can be overclocked to 10000 MT/s with some latency tweaks.
While the memory was able to achieve the 9200 MT/s at CL 46-54-54-148 and 9600 MT/ at CL 44-56-56-154, the 10000 MT/s frequency was achieved at 46-60-60-148. We don't know the real-world impacts of this speed and CL timings yet but looks like Colorful is already on the verge of exceeding 10000 MT/s.
The product shown is 24G*2, XMP specifications are 9600C44 1.5V and XMP 9200C46 1.45V, achieving a dual-channel 10000MT/S result.
In addition, it is also equipped with the widely recognized OC PMIC solution, with lower voltage and better stability, to help overclocking enthusiasts break through the frequency limit, and ordinary users can also achieve high-frequency stable overtest. The new "Shadow" series products will be released during the Double Eleven period. In addition to the CUDIMM specifications mentioned above, there will also be high-performance UDIMM specifications. Both cover 6400~9600 MT/s, and the capacity ranges from 16G to 48G. Welcome all players to pay attention to Colorful JD Double Eleven memory activities and choose your favorite products!
Several other memory makers have started making their own 9600 and 9200 MT/s memory kits as we have reported in recent days and these memory kits will be ideal for both mainstream desktops and workstations where data integrity is crucial. How much impact will the CUDIMM memory make in gaming is unclear at the moment but as the launch of several of these is near, we may see how much performance difference can these kits make very soon.
The Colorful Shadow CUDIMM DDR5 RAM will be available in a variety of flavors and sizes. The memory will be available in various capacities too, starting from 16 GB all the way to 48 GB. The frequencies will vary from 6400 to 9600 MT/s with the latter being the flagship model. The Colorful Shadow CUDIMM DDR5 is going to launch at Double 11 sales, which will start on 11th November.
