Digital Extremes' latest devstream for Warframe has unveiled the latest update for Warframe: 1999, which is set to be released in March on all platforms. The update has been named Techrot Encore. Before that releases, players will have a lot of events and content to explore in February to keep them busy before the latest update comes out in March. This includes the release of Lavos Prime on February 12, new Nightwave rewards and challenges, as well as the return of Clan Operation: Belly of the Beast, which will be live on February 6. For those who are interested in attending TennoCon in person, the tickets for this event will be released on February 7.
Alongside the devstream for Warframe, there was also a devstream for Soulframe, where there were a few glimpses given into the plans for 2025. It will continue to be in the Preludes (Pre-Alpha Test) version of the game, but players will get to experience and see an expanded world map, as well as a new Fable (story quest) to participate in, which will provide a lot of context for the game as it unveils the history of the world it takes place in. This quest will be where you'll be in charge of rescuing the wolf companion, Orengall, and her pups. The Fable's title is The Shewolf Snared.
Some other major additions are being added to Soulframe, including the ability to commit yourself to one of three Factions when you begin your journey, which will then tie into a mini-quest system later on in Soulframe. There will also be some major characters introduced in the future, including the latest Ancestors, Atajan and Pothia.
Circling back to the Warframe: 1999 Techrot Encore update, the new anticipated arrival will be added to the Lich adversary system, which includes Technocyte Coda boy band boss fights. More specifically, they are Infested copies of the hit boy band On-lyne, and you will get to listen to some fantastic music as you take out the copies of the boy band, where you will then be rewarded with one of 13 new Infested weapons.
Four new Protoframes will be making their way onto the streets of Hollvania, with more information about the upcoming Gemini skins and emotes to be released in the near future.
If you want to take your gameplay in Warframe: 1999 one step further, you will now be able to explore your bonds with characters and deepen them, as there have been major improvements made towards the pre-existing Romance & Relationship System in-game.
There will also be four new Scaldra weapons added to the game for you to earn and experiment with, including a pistol, sickle, rifle, and grenade launcher. All of this will be fitting the 90s theme, giving you a hit of nostalgia as you undertake new missions and socialize with your companions.
