Previously, it was reported that Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 was going to be placed under Project Noble, along with another Galaxy S6 variant that was in the pipeline and had been placed under Project Zen. Now, according to the latest details, it appears that Samsung is indeed going to incorporate a much better performing chipset in its upcoming flagship phablet. The SoC is going to be named Exynos 7422 and information on whether or not it belongs to the company’s custom core is currently unavailable.
Exynos 7422 Is Expected To Be The Company’s First Ever All-In-One Solution, Combining The CPU, GPU, RAM, Storage And Modem In A Single Chip
It has been reported that Samsung has begun working on displays that are rendering the 4K resolution. What this means is the Galaxy Note 5 could be the first ever smartphone to incorporate such a high resolution. Unfortunately, we are all aware of the rapid battery depletion that comes with running a highly dense resolution so in order to help with that, it is rumored that the high performing phablet is going to be featuring a 4,100 mAh battery.
As for Exynos 7422, it is going to be Samsung’s first ever AIO solution. More commonly known as ePoP, it will combine the CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, and modem on a single chip. Just to jog your memory, Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha also featured a similar solution, with the only difference being that it combined just the RAM and storage in a single package. Additionally, Samsung happens to be far ahead of the trend, as there are rumors that the smartphone giant is testing out its Galaxy Note 5 units with a new Exynos 7430 chipset. Before you jump in exciting, we are confident that Exynos 7430 is most likely going to be an engineering sample and it appears that it might be incorporated in the company’s Galaxy S7.
As for Project Zen, the handset is rumored to feature a 5.4 inch/5.5 inch Super AMOLED dual-edge curved display, along with an S Pen, and surprisingly, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 SoC. While the rumored hardware specifications of the smartphone are thoroughly disappointing, we hope that Samsung packs far more arsenal it the handset than we are being led to believe. When we concern ourselves with Galaxy Note 5, the flagship phablet is looking to be one heck of a mobile powerhouse, and come September, we will finally be able to witness just how high Samsung has raised the bar.
