G.Skill has introduced faster memory kit for the AMD AM5 platform, specially crafted for the 800 series motherboards, offering great speeds at lower latency.
G.Skill's New 48 GB x2 Memory Kit Can Achieve 6000 MT/s at CL26-39-39-96, Taking AM5 Platform to New Heights
One of the leading PC memory manufacturers, G.Skill, has been pretty active recently in preparing faster and more responsive DDR5 memories. A week ago, it introduced multiple memory kits with speeds of up to 8000 MT/s for the AM5 platform. While it already showcased its DDR5-6000 memory kit with excellent 26-39-39 timings, the newer memory kit achieves a higher memory capacity than previously.
G.Skill has introduced a newer and faster 48 GB x2 (96 GB) DDR5 memory kit that can achieve the same CL26-39-39-96 timings at 6000 MT/s, while previously, these timings and speeds could only be achieved with the 24 GB x2(48 GB) memory kit. This allows memory enthusiasts to bump up their capacities on the AM5 platform for intensive tasks without losing responsiveness.
As per G.Skill's testing, the 96 GB kit reaches 6000 MT/s of speed at CL26 on the ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero motherboard using the latest and the most powerful productivity/gaming processor, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D. However, the same speed and latency can be achieved with other setups like MSI MPG X870E Carbon Wi-Fi paired with AMD Ryzen 9 9900X.
That said, the 48 GB DDR5 kit is now able to hit lower CL timings overall with the same 6000 MT/s speed. Previously, it was CL26-39-39 with a 2x 24 GB kit, and now it is CL26-36-36 on the same platform, consisting of the ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero and Ryzen 9 9900X. Everything configuration has been tested for any memory errors and thankfully, the memory timings at 6000 MT/s were stable and completely error-free.
These memory kits will be available in various families, such as the Trident Z5 Neo RGB, Trident Z5 Royal Neo RGB, and the Ripjaws M5 Neo RGB. Users who want to achieve similar speeds at the advertised timings will have to use the latest 800-series motherboards with Ryzen 9000 series processors to get similar results.
G.Skill's 48 GB and 96 GB DDR5-6000 CL26 memory kits will be available starting in May 2025, when the company will ship them out to its distribution partners worldwide.
