Gmail on Android and iOS is Getting More AI Features Such as Q&A, Improved Smart Reply, Summarize, and More

Google has decided to make Gmail on Android and iOS even better by introducing a bunch of new Gemini-based features. With these features, you will get access to Q&A, improved smart replies, Summarizing, and a lot more. Basically, if you are now dealing with a lot of emails and want a better way to handle and reply to them, AI will help you do just that.

Google wants Gmail to be the most powerful email client available

Google has discussed how bringing generative AI to Gmail on mobile was more difficult, but the good news is that the features will finally be available soon. You will soon be able to use "Summarize this email" on iOS and Android, which will be great for longer threads. The new button will be placed right under the subject line at the top of your screen, and you can even slide up a Gemini sheet with the requested recap. The good news is that Workspace Labs users will start getting access to these features this week, with the feature extending to more users in June.

Moving forward, Gmail Q&A will be another feature available. The Gemini icon at the top right corner of your inbox will let you enter prompts, basically asking various questions, which is pretty interesting. This feature will be available in July for Workspace Labs users on mobile.

Furthermore, Gmail is also bringing Contextual Smart Replies, which allows the AI to analyze an email's context and provide much more customized and detailed suggestions than the currently available options. You will not have to wait long for this feature, as it will start rolling out on mobile and web in July.

It is more than safe to say that Google has ensured that Gemini and Gmail are becoming better together. With these features rolling out, many people will have a much better and easier time making sure that their conversations and communications are handled with proper care and attention. I cannot wait to try these features out, as I use the emailing service a lot, and this will only make things easier for me.
