AMD Showcases Several Radeon RX 9070 XT "RDNA 4" GPU Custom Models, Leading AIBs With New Cooling Solutions
AMD announced its RDNA 4 "Radeon RX 9000" GPU lineup at CES, but the company didn't go into much detail as they stated that it didn't make sense to have just 5–10 minutes dedicated to its new graphics lineup. Instead, AMD plans to do a special event at a later date where it will share more in depth details such as performance, specifications, and pricing. While we wait for that, the company showcased several custom models which we got our first look at, so let's see what's in store for the RDNA 4 GPU family.
The company put forward a few models out of the many that are being made. These include two XFX, one Sapphire, one ASUS, and one PowerColor model. Starting with the XFX models, there are two variants, one in black and one in white, which come with triple-fan configurations.
The White variant features a 2.5-slot design with two 8-pin connectors, while the higher-end Black variant is a three-slot design with three 8-pin connectors and a massive heatsink fin stack. Both cards are still early prototypes so expect retail designs to be finalized in the coming weeks.
Sapphire is rolling out its new PURE White variant of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT "RDNA 4" GPU. It comes with a high-end triple-slot and triple-fan cooling solution. The card features dual 8-pin plugs, but there's also room for one more, which means that there could be more higher-end models in the future.
Next up is ASUS's TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT, which features the same Navi 48 "RDNA 4" GPU and has a massive triple-slot and triple-fan design with three 8-pin connectors. This model retains the look of the new TUF Gaming custom designs and offers a new backplate with a large cut-out on the back for higher heat dissipation capabilities. The model also comes with dual BIOS profiles with the Q-Mode offering quiet operation and P-Mode offering higher performance.
PowerColor's new Red Devil Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU was also on display with a huge triple fan and 2.5-slot design. This model comes with a large backplate and has a large RGB LED accent plate on the back. There are two 8-pin connectors required to boot it up & you also get a dual BIOS option.

In addition to these, other AIBs are also prepping up their models, which include the ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi with a single 16-pin connector, the Yeston Sakura Edition, Vastarmor's triple-fan design, and Gigabyte's new AORUS variants. AMD itself will also offer the card in MBA flavors with a dual-slot and triple-fan design, while the RX 9070 will utilize a smaller dual-slot and dual-fan design. The reference cards feature dual 8-pin connectors and are expected to hit retail within Q1 2025.
