What do you generally do if you want to open the same link in another tab in your browser? If you answered by copying the link and pasting the link in a new tab, and then opening the link, then you aren’t alone. Not many people know that you can duplicate the entire tab by doing this copy-pasting method. In this tutorial, I will show you how to create duplicate tabs in your browser.
Create Duplicate Tabs in Browser
Many of us have multiple tabs open simultaneously, and sometimes, we need the same link opened in multiple places. So, instead of using the archaic method of copy-pasting, there is another way to go about this. The Duplicate tab method will open the exact URL that you already have opened. You won’t need to open a new tab; paste the link and press Enter when you need the same link opened.
Create Duplicate Tabs in Edge
Step-1: Open Microsoft Edge.
Step-2: Open any link you want or open the tab you wish to copy if you already have Edge opened.
Step-3: Right-click on the tab you wish to duplicate and select Duplicate Tab. You can also use the shortcut keys Ctrl+Shift+K to perform the same function.
Pretty useful, right?
So, what if you don’t use Edge and you use some other browser like Google Chrome? What do you do then?
Google Chrome
- Open Google Chrome.
- Open any link you want or visit the tab that you wish to be duplicated.
- Right-click on the tab you wish to duplicate and select Duplicate.
I tried this with Mozilla Firefox as well, and the steps are the same. However, the shortcut keys work only for Edge.
