Apple has a very close-knit software experience that only communicates with its own devices. While Google is pushing Apple to adopt RCS, the company remains adamant about offering the latest features in its walled garden. However, Microsoft has now completed the rollout of its Phone Link app on Windows 11, which supports some of the basic yet important iPhone features. You will now be able to send and receive iMessage on your Windows 11 computer, along with the ability to make calls and view notifications.
The process to set up and use the new Phone Link app on Windows 11 is pretty simple. We are glad to have iMessage running on a Windows 11 laptop. It will not only make your work and media consumption seamless but also save time. While the latest feature is more than a welcome addition, the Phone Link app for Windows 11 still lacks some major features present on the iPhone. For instance, you will not be able to send and receive photos, videos, or audio messages through the app. Furthermore, you can not make FaceTime calls yet, but there is another way through which you can achieve this. All in all, the experience is helpful but basic.
