Sand Land, the new open-world action-adventure based on one of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama’s lesser-known works is out now, and its surprisingly complex for an anime adaptation. One of things you’re going to want to do early on to make your life easier is upgrade your home base of Spino Town. While it may not the very most important upgrade, the Paint Shop will allow you to customize the cosmetic appearance of your vehicles – get rid of that standard rusty brown most of them come in! You’ll have to complete a series of sidequests in order to get the Paint Shop, but don’t worry, we’ll walk you through it…

Before trying to unlock the Paint Shop in Spino Town, you should first try to unlock the Workshop, as a lot of the steps required for that are also pre-requisites for the Paint Shop. Specifically, you’re going to want to find Spino Town and complete the “A Jump-bot?! Gimme!” main campaign quest, as well as the “Tinkerer Siblings” (here’s how to that) and “Slacker Junker” sidequests (here’s how to do that). With all that complete you’ll have to complete the “Mysterious Voice” sidequest.
Mysterious Voice

First you’ll want to go talk to the solider Mos in Spino Town. He’ll have joined the town as long as you’ve completed the “Desert Soldier” sidequests (one of the quick prerequisites for unlocking the Tinkerer Siblings quest). This will set the quest in motion.
Head south-east of Spino town to the Gahlet region. Near a water refilling station, you’ll hear somebody or something loudly groaning.

Take note of the lighter brown platforms alongside the nearby cliff. Climb up those cliffs using your trusty Jumpbot.

You’ll find an NPC named Shion hiding up on the cliff. Talk to him and he’ll head back to Spino. Go back to Spino and talk to Mos to complete the quest.
And there you go! The Spino Paint Shop is now open for business, so get to decorating! You can complete the “Payment in Paint” sidequest to expand the colors and camos you can use.
Sand Land is available now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. You can check out Wccftech’s other Sand Land guides here.
