Apple has finally seeded the release candidate build of its upcoming iOS 18.4 operating system to developers for last-stage testing and bug curation. If you are a registered developer, you can download and install the latest version for free on your iPhone. The company has also released the RC versions of iPadOS 18.4, watchOS 11.4, macOS 15.4, visionOS 2.4, and tvOS 18.4 to developers.
Apple releases iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, watchOS 11.4, and tvOS 18.4 release candidate builds to developers
As mentioned, the iOS 18.4 release candidate is now out and can be installed on all compatible iPhone models through the Settings app. All you have to do is head over to General > Software Update > Beta Updates and install the latest version by following the on-screen instructions. The iPadOS 18.4 release candidate build can be installed on all compatible iPad models through the same mechanism, so do not be alarmed. As for what’s new, the update will include Priority Notifications, Ambient Music, and much more.
Besides iOS 18.4, Apple has also seeded the release candidate build of macOS 15.4 to developers, which can be downloaded through the Software Update mechanism in System Settings. macOS 15.4 will bring the same Apple Intelligence upgrades as iOS 18.4, along with a handful of exclusive changes for the Mac. As mentioned earlier, Apple has also released the RC versions of watchOS 11.4, visionOS 2.4, and tvOS 18.4 to developers, all of which can be installed through the Settings app as well.
Before you download and install the latest updates, you must ensure that your Apple ID is connected to your Developer Account. If it is not, you will not receive the OTA update in the Settings app, so be sure to integrate your accounts. We previously reported that iOS 18.4 and other updates would be available to the general public by the end of this month, and it appears our speculations were on point. Apple will potentially release iOS 18.4 alongside other updates next Monday unless the company decides to seed another RC build to developers. We will keep you updated on the latest, so stay tuned.
