Mark Gurman shared his speculations in his latest Power On newsletter, highlighting what users should be looking forward to in the coming years. If the news has any heft to it, Apple could unveil its long-rumored iPhone that "appears like a single sheet of glass." The company did the same with the launch of the iPhone X, as it was drastically different than the iPhone models launched before it.
One thing is clear: Apple does not believe in gradual changes, as it moved straight from the giant forehead and a fat chin on the iPhone 7 to an all-screen design with minimal bezels. The latest iPhone 16 lineup still follows the same design language as the iPhone X, and in the coming year or so, Apple could redefine the iPhone once again, which would allow it to stay ahead of the curve.
Apple has only made minor changes in design in the past few years, and if what Gurman believes is true, it will finally follow the route of its former design chief, Jony Ive. The iPhone 17 Air will be a step in the right direction, and the slimmer form factor will be carried forward to the 20th anniversary of the iPhone.
