Apple's fourth-generation iPhone SE is currently under development, and the company has planned a major design overhaul for its budget iPhone. We have reported numerous times how the design of the device is being completely changed compared to the iPhone SE 3, as Apple moves away from the Home Button in favor of Touch ID and an all-screen outlook similar to recent releases. Now, images of the iPhone SE 4 cases have surfaced online, showcasing the design and size of the device.

iPhone SE 4 cases leak to show iPhone 14-like design but with a single camera, a notch up top for Face ID, and a Mute Switch cutout

Last week, it was reported that BOE would supply the OLED display of the iPhone SE 4. We expect the device to feature a 6.1-inch display with a Face ID on top instead of a Touch ID in the Home Button. Apple appears to be finally letting go of the older iPhone 6-like design for the SE lineup, and to be fair, the company has stretched the design for far too long. Nonetheless, it did allow the company to keep the iPhone at a base price with the latest internals.

In terms of looks, the iPhone SE 4 will take design cues from the iPhone 14 with flat sides and a small notch up top to house the front-facing camera and TrueDepth sensors for Face ID. Tipster Majin Bu shared images of the iPhone SE 4 cases, which appear to show the long-rumored design of the device. It can be seen that the iPhone SE 4 will feature the smaller version of the notch that debuted with the iPhone 13 lineup, housing all the necessary sensors for Face ID and the front camera.

On the back of the device, we can see that the SE 4 will feature a single camera coupled with a flash and microphone. While the sensor is larger than its predecessor, the device resembles the iPhone XR, as the company reserves additional camera sensors for the premium models. However, the device does not appear to have a camera plateau, as the camera bump protrudes from the back glass itself.

Lastly, the iPhone SE 4 case also shows the design from the side, and based on the cutout above the Volume Button, the device will miss out on the Action Button. It was previously rumored that the iPhone SE 4 will feature an iPhone 14-like design and with an Action Button, but the cutout on the case is designed for the Mute Switch.

It remains to be seen if the company will move ahead with the Mute Switch or switch to the Action Button. Note that it is too early to conclude the design of the iPhone SE 4 as it is speculated to launch next year. Despite the new design and powerful internals, the fourth-generation iPhone SE is slated to depreciate significantly in value based on early speculations. We will share more details on the device as soon as further information is available.
