iOS 19 is reported to be one of the biggest updates the iPhone has received since its launch. Unfortunately, Apple will drop a handful of iPhone models from the compatibility list, which includes support for older iPhone models. It was recently reported by analyst Mark Gurman that iOS 19 will be a bigger update than originally anticipated, considering the company will overhaul various aspects of the interface.
Check out which iPhone and iPad models will support iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 later this year
Apple has announced its WWDC 2025 event dates, which will take place on June 9, where it will see fit to announce iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12, visionOS 3, and tvOS 19 to the public. Apple will potentially take design cues from visionOS, as was recently reported, and it will revolve around a transparent, glass-like effect on various aspects of the interface.

We have to take note that while all of the above-mentioned iPhone models will be compatible with iOS 19, only the higher-end models will get advanced or premium features, which include various Apple Intelligence upgrades. Apple has delayed its Personalized Siri feature until next year, which means that these AI features will be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro models, the entire iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 lineup, along with the recently announced iPhone 16e.
As for iPadOS 19, it appears that models equipped with the A12 Bionic chip, which includes the iPad mini 5, will get the update, but iPad 7, which has an A10 Fusion chip, will miss out on the update. We will share more details on the list, and if there are any last-minute changes, be sure to keep an eye out.
