Planning To Build A Budget-Friendly Gaming PC With AMD's Ryzen X3D CPUs, Better Wait For MSI's Upcoming AM5 "B850" Motherboards
MSI has released a vast array of AM5 motherboards featuring the B850 chipset and while these options are great themselves, the company is prepping even more options for budget builders.
We managed to get hold of an upcoming roadmap of the company and its plans for the B850 PCH and the company has five new options coming in Q2 2025. These options include the following:
- MSI MPG B850I Edge WIFI (Mini-ITX)
- MSI PRO B850M-P WIFI (M-ATX)
- MSI PRO B850M-B (M-ATX)
- MSI B850 Gaming PLUS WIFI PZ (ATX)
- MSI PRO B850M-A WIFI PZ (M-ATX)
As you can see, MSI will have at least one new variant within the MPG lineup which will feature a Mini-ITX design. The company has already released the full ATX-sized version of the EDGE TI WIFI, and it's nice to know that we will get a Mini-ITX variant too.

The rest of the motherboards are featured within the PRO series and there is a good range of options here too. The MAG series already has Tomahawk and Mortar options, which are solid designs for AM5 PC builders.
In terms of features, the MSI AM5 "B850" motherboards will feature the latest IO functionalities too, including support for WIFI 7, Gen5 PCIe/M.2 slots, CPU & memory overclocking capabilities, a host of EZ DIY features and 5G LAN. The WIFI7 signaling will be rated at the full 320MHz band and the company will also add full functionality for AMD's Ryzen X3D CPUs such as the 9800X3D & the 7800X3D which will make for some awesome budget gaming PCs. Expect more details about the new designs soon.
