Chinese manufacturers introduce the world's most powerful gaming laptops, powered by the AMD Ryzen 9955HX3D & NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPU.
Machenike and Mechrevo Introduce Ryzen 9955HX3D-Based Gaming Laptops: Mechrevo Brings Built-in Water Cooling & NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPUs
AMD's high-performance premium Zen 5 mobile chips are about to hit the market as laptop manufacturers have started deploying the flagship AMD Ryzen 9000HX3D chip in their laptops. At the moment, major laptop manufacturers like ASUS, HP, Dell, etc. haven't announced any such products, but two Chinese laptop manufacturers have announced their newest and the fastest gaming laptops we have seen to date.
The first one is from Machenike (via @AnhPhuH), the "Dawn 16 Pro" (rough translation of Chinese text) gaming laptop, featuring AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, which appeared in a few leaks previously. This is currently the best Zen 5-based offering by AMD for mobile platforms, which belongs to the recently released "Fire Range" series. The CPU features 16 cores, 32 threads, and a total of 144 MB cache.
The Dawn 16 Pro laptop deploys it alongside the GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU, also the flagship product from the NVIDIA Blackwell lineup. While the Ryzen 9955HX3D works at 54W by default, Machenike has allowed a power boost of up to 125W for the chip, while the RTX 5090 can work at up to 175W. With this CPU-GPU combo, expect leading gaming performance on the laptop.
Other specs include 32 GB DDR5 RAM with the option to upgrade up to 96 GB. It comes with a 1TB PCI-E 5.0 SSD and dual M.2 slots with support for RAID 0/1. At 80Wh capacity, it isn't the best in battery life but does support 140W Type-C fast charging. As for the display, it is equipped with a 16-inch screen, boasting a 2560x1600p resolution, and runs at up to 300Hz.
Surprisingly, even with such extraordinary specs and features, the Mechrevo is still ahead with its own Dawn 16 Ultra laptop. It technically brings a similar configuration but more versatile options, including different CPU choices: Ryzen 9 9955HX or 9955HX3D, and different GPU choices with options such as RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090.
The Mechrevo Dawn 16 Ultra can achieve a boost of up to 280W with UltraBoost for maximum gaming performance while keeping the thermal performance at a higher level through water cooling as mentioned by the leaker @94G8LA. The display technology is also excellent with a MiniLED panel and can run at up to 300Hz similar to the Dawn 16 Pro from Machenike.
However, it also gets a larger battery life with a 99 Wh battery. Currently, there is no word on the pricing and availability but expect these laptops to be quite expensive.
