NVIDIA App now enables support for all DLSS preset options with the override functionality while also providing users with custom scaling.
All NVIDIA DLSS Presets Are Now Available Within the NVIDIA App, Custom Resolution Scaling For DLSS Super Resolution Also Added
The latest NVIDIA App update brings new functionality for DLSS Override, now giving users more flexibility than before.
Previously, the NVIDIA DLSS Override - Super Resolution setting was only restricted to DLAA or DLSS Super Resolution "Ultra Performance" presets. But with the new update, users can leverage the full list of DLSS Super Resolution Presets including Performance, Balanced, and Quality, allowing more games that don't have native support for DLSS baked in to take advantage of AI-enhanced visuals.

This is great for many gamers as having just the DLAA & DLSS "Ultra Performance" preset has its downsides. The former offers much higher visual fidelity than the native image but comes at a performance cost, while DLSS "Ultra Performance" led to a visual quality decline versus the other presets. Having access to more presets is always welcome and now users running the latest NVIDIA App alongside the GRD 572.83 WHQL or newer driver can take that advantage.
Furthermore, NVIDIA is also adding support for custom resolution scaling with the option to scale DLSS Super Resolution from 33% up to 100%. 100% is DLAA while 33% is the aforementioned Ultra Performance mode. With these, users can further fine-tune the best performance & image quality for a game that has been overridden through the NVIDIA App.
In addition to Project G-Assist availability, NVIDIA app has several other updates launching this week, including expanding the functionality of DLSS overrides and enabling players to fine tune image quality or boost performance. The new NVIDIA app update adds a new feature to the “DLSS Override - Super Resolution” setting for users who have GeForce Game Ready Driver or NVIDIA Studio Driver 572.83 WHQL, or newer installed.
Previously, it could activate DLAA or DLSS Super Resolution Ultra Performance mode in games and apps lacking native support. Now, you can enable any DLSS preset, or alternatively customize the resolution scaling between 33% and 100%. Display Scaling and Display Color settings have also been moved over from the NVIDIA Control Panel, modernizing and improving them, and taking another step towards unifying all NVIDIA GPU features in one responsive application. Lastly, the new NVIDIA App update also migrates the Display Scaling and Display Color settings from the Control Panel App to the newer software. The same tuning options are available in a much more modern interface.
