Apple's service sector generates billions of dollars every year, and even though Google could stop paying the company soon for its default search engine, there are additional subscriptions in place that will continue to bring in money. A new survey indicates that iCloud remains the most popular Apple subscription service in the United States despite the market having alternatives.
Apple's iCloud Subscription is the most popular Apple Service in the United States
According to a new report from the Consumer Intelligence Research Partner or CIRP, Apple's iCloud storage service is the most popular Apple service in the United States, with almost two-thirds of users in the country opting for paid iCloud storage. The service has surpassed Apple Music, Apple TV+, and Apple Care in terms of adoption and is the main source of revenue for Apple's service.
Apple Music and Apple TV+ account for 42 percent and 32 percent, respectively, among Apple users, with Apple Care scoring only 17 percent of the total services. We have to note that Apple's iCloud storage has been around for a lot longer than other services like Apple Music and Apple TV+, allowing the category to flourish over time. However, there could be additional reasons for the uptick in popularity.
Each year, Apple upgrades the iPhone with new changes, introducing features that take up more space than before. For instance, the new RAW format takes up more than twice the storage space on the iPhone, which pushes users to get more iCloud storage. Apart from this, Apple's service is the best option for iPhone or Apple users as a whole, as it integrates with the software on a deeper level. It is the best option for users compared to what the competition has to offer.
There is no doubt that the iCloud storage service is in immense competition with Google and other companies, but Apple's rendition makes the most sense for iPad, iPhone, and Mac users. For one, accessing data on the cloud is fairly seamless, simple, and does not require any hassle. Users can continue to work on their projects from one device to another through files and much more.
If you are unfamiliar with it, Apple's paid iCloud storage subscription starts at $0.99 a month for 50GB of space and goes up to 2TB for $9.99 a month. You can also get the Apple One service, which includes additional services like Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, and more.
