It has not been long since Samsung launched its Galaxy S25 series at the Unpacked 2025. However, the tech community is already buzzing about the next flagship phone and what the Ultra model will bring about. The South Korean tech giant did live up to its promise of bringing some major upgrades, including design and AI upgrades, to the S25 lineup. Now, the rumor mill has moved on to the Galaxy S26 and the improvements the company is incorporating next year. Recent speculation suggests that the premium device will be packed up with a bigger battery, and a key feature is potentially making a comeback.

Recent rumors suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra might come with a larger battery and extend Bluetooth support for the S Pen

With the release of the Galaxy S25 series not long ago, users seem hooked on what Samsung has in store for its next flagship models. Rumors have been going around about the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the major changes in design and hardware coming to the model. Now, a rumor gives away how Samsung has made some significant advancements to the upcoming premium device in comparison to its predecessor.

As per speculation, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could bring about a major change in the camera layout, which might change from four rear cameras to three sensors. The rumor stems from a prototype in testing, which highlights a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 200MP telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom. The lens that is missing might be due to a major feature making a comeback, which is the variable aperture on the primary sensor. This would not just remove the need for an extra telephoto lens but also improve the performance in low-light conditions and help the company compete with other brands like Huawei, which has been refining the feature in their flagship phones.

Another major upgrade expected of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the 5,500mAh battery capacity, which is a jump from the 5,000mAh battery that Samsung has maintained in recent flagship models and for the S25 Ultra as well. Although the larger battery is a much-needed upgrade and would significantly enhance performance compared to the predecessor, Samsung still needs to come up to its rivals when it comes to advancements, given how Oppo, Honor Magic 6 Pro, and OnePlus13 are pushing for 6,000mAh batteries by using stacked or silicon batteries for their latest models.

Samsung is said to be finally bringing back the Bluetooth support for the S Pen for the S26 Ultra model. This is especially vital given how users were left feeling dismayed over this missing feature from the S25 Ultra model. The South Korean tech giant is offering promising upgrades for the S26 Ultra model compared to the previous flagship device, but the tech community and users expect Samsung to push harder, especially with the aggressive approach the Chinese competitors are taking.
