Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown's first season has begun, with the Solar Crown competition being available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For those who are eager for competition, players can now complete a series of races and challenges in an attempt to climb the rankings, allowing players to acquire Solar Points to work their way up the leaderboard. Those who reach the top of the Solar Court by the end of the season will win a Pininfarina Battista as a reward. The first season has a 25-level Solar Pass, which is available to all players.
The 25-level Solar Pass will have exclusive rewards such as car cosmetics, skins, and emotes. For those who reach the final level of the Solar Pass, you'll be rewarded with an Audi RS e-tron GT. Along with the Solar Pass being added to the game, the first major patch has been released for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. This patch is working on reinforcing the server stability and optimizing the overall game performance on both PC and console. The patch is so big it includes over 300+ bug fixes, with better save games after there being noted issues with them. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has also received improved peripheral compatibility so that people can use their specific controller or a driving wheel for a more authentic experience. Compatibility for steering wheels and shifters has been improved, as well as improved support for ultra-wide monitors.
For those who want to know what peripherals are approved to work with Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, NACON has uploaded a post that lists every supported peripheral in their FAQ about the game, such as the known issues in the game and how players can set up the telemetry on PC.
A lot of the 300+ bug fixes were quite minor, such as suspension issues on various cars and players being able to drive through NPCs in free roam. However, out of the list of bug fixes, the improved pathfinding of GPS is huge, as this is something that can easily hinder a player if they're participating in a race.
The game was experiencing a lot of server issues, where players were unable to log in, or they were being disconnected from lobbies and races. This has now been fixed in the first major patch of Test Crown Unlimited Solar Crown, along with huge stability and performance improvements. The Steam page has their full list of patch notes.
