Apple announced its new M3-powered iPad Air through a press release, and it seems that the latest addition has undergone some major advancements in comparison to the previous tablet lineup. The latest iPad Air is available in two sizes, 11-inch and 13-inch, and the models come with the M3 chip, which is meant to offer improved performance and better efficiency. While the updated iPad Air introduces significant enhancements, one other upgrade that has caught our attention is the redesigned Magic Keyboard. There are some interesting new additions to the accessory, but the most enticing part seems to be the lower price despite more premium features being added.
Apple announced not just the new iPad Air but also an updated Magic Keyboard, and we are in for it
The redesigned Magic Keyboard includes some interesting updates and features previously reserved for the iPad Pro's accessory. These include more function keys and a relatively larger trackpad. Apple's efforts to add more to its tablet offering can be sensed in not just incorporating a more versatile accessory but also opting for lower pricing and giving users an enhanced experience at an optimal range.
The Magic Keyboard is priced at $269 for the 11-inch model and $319 for the 13-inch version. The new accessory for the iPad Air seems to share many similarities with the M4 iPad Pro's version. The only difference between the two seems to be the haptic feedback missing on the trackpad of the iPad Air version, which could impact users' interaction with it.
The aluminum palm rest is also not found in the iPad Air, but the rest of the details mirror the Pro model's version. As per Apple's press release, the updated Magic Keyboard also offers more precision:
The all-new Magic Keyboard for iPad Air expands what users can do at an even lower price. The larger built-in trackpad brings greater precision for detail-oriented tasks, and a new 14-key function row allows easy access to features like screen brightness and volume controls. The new Magic Keyboard attaches magnetically, and the Smart Connector immediately connects power and data without the need for Bluetooth; a machined aluminum hinge also includes a USB-C connector for charging.
The new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air seems to be quite a compelling option, given its Pro-like features at an affordable price.
