It's time to officially announce the winners of the Wccftech Awards' 24. The list features the best games released last year and the most anticipated titles due this year, as voted by our staff and community through polls based on our respective category lists.
While 2024 wasn't quite as outstanding as 2023 when accounting for the overall game releases, there were certainly some standout launches. The best arguably arrived late in the year, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle from MachineGames being the only game to snatch three prizes (the Adventure award from both staff and community and the Game of the Year award from the staff).
The rest of the best of 2024 stopped at two awards. This includes Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (voted the best RPG according to both staff and community), Tekken 8, Black Myth: Wukong, Frostpunk 2, Astro Bot, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Only in four cases out of thirteen categories was there a different winner between the staff and community polls, showing a great alignment between the tastes of our writers and our readers.

Our yearly Wccftech Awards also include the outlook for the next year, in this case, 2025. Here, the misalignment was much greater, with nine out of thirteen winners being different between staff and community polls. It's no wonder, though, as the games haven't been released yet, and these votes are based on current information only.
Arguably, the standout is that our staff isn't very excited about Grand Theft Auto VI as a whole, though perhaps that will change when Rockstar Games actually shares some gameplay details.
