Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version 1607) to PC and Mobile users in August this year. New stats indicate the latest version of Windows 10 continues to gain market share. Jumping up from last month's 34.5%, Windows 10 Anniversary Update now powers 76.6% of ALL Windows 10 devices.
In just one month, the latest version doubled its market share, which is definitely impressive considering how users reported facing several installation troubles with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

The latest increase in growth rate is partly because of the company's own slow rollout strategy. Earlier, Microsoft had confirmed that the Windows 10 Anniversary Update would be released to users in multiple phases, ironing out compatibility and other system issues before large-scale deployment started. As the software giant started to offer the upgrade to more Windows 10 devices, the growth was expected to increase in the last month.
Right after the version 1607 was released, we also saw a number of problems, including download issues, freeze problems, and of course the post-installation compatibility troubles. Those included the infamous webcam problems, Kindle blue screens, and other similar annoyances for the users.
Windows 10 Anniversary Update appears to have finally rid itself of these major problems, as more devices continue to upgrade to the latest version of the OS.
With this continued growth rate, it is expected that the roll out of Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be finished by the next month. By November, Anniversary Update will power more than 90% of all Windows 10 PCs. Of course, there will always be a small portion that won't update to the latest version, so it cannot be a 100% rollout. One proof is that 4% of Windows 10 PCs are still running the initial version of Windows 10 which was released last year.
The company is now working on the next major upgrade, dubbed as Windows 10 Redstone 2. The next upgrade is likely to be released in March 2017 as earlier leaks suggested a version number 1703.
