The Witcher is not an easy world to jump into after three games, but The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the perfect time for newcomers to jump as it is accessible enough for people that did not experience the previous iterations in the franchise to enjoy. By introducing Geralt's origins and new characters, it tells a completely new story and new places to visit and explore. It also brings the rich history that the series has been known for into all of its new stories.
Senior Writer Jakub Szamałek explains:
“So, we were aware that there would be a lot of new players coming into the Witcher world to play Wild Hunt, and we worked really hard to make sure that the prologue is inviting to these new players,”
“It unravels kind of slowly so it allows you to get used to this world and get to know the characters, so we really worked a lot on the prologue to ensure that, even if you know absolutely nothing about the Witcher universe, you can get to know this universe by the end of it.”
“you’ll know who the Witchers are, who Geralt is specifically, what are their aims, what is the world like, and what’s the true state of the world right now. So, we think that, by the time you finish the prologue, you really do have a grasp of the basics of the story and you kind of learn more about it as you go.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will certainly be one of the most extraordinary gaming experiences of the year and a potential Game of the Year candidate. The game is said to offer over 100 hours of game time, and even a speedrun took internal testers 25 hours to complete. The full map of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is absolutely huge, and there are many different areas and environments that players traverse in during their countless quests.
In The Witcher 3 players will not only be able to trim or grow beards but Geralt's face will also change depending on the toxins that are ingested. What this means is that depending on how many potions you drink, indicating the toxins in the body.
“As you know, Witcher elixirs are highly toxic, and could kill a human if he/she drank one. Witchers are more resistant to this toxin, but it does influence them. In game you have this ‘toxicity bar,’ which shows you how intoxicated Geralt is.”
says Projekt’s lead quest designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.

The Witcher 3 is less than a month away from release, and as we have previously covered, CD Projekt has already announced that pre-load options are already live, as well as the unlock times for The Witcher 3.
