XPG Announces AICORE DDR5 R-DIMM Overclocked Memory For High-End AMD & Intel Workstations
The popular memory manufacturer, XPG, today announced its entry into the field of workstations by introducing its brand-new DDR5 memory. It's not a regular DIMM or UDIMM but an R-DIMM DDR5 memory, which is overclockable and brings enhanced performance out of the box.
The company already has plenty of products in both RAM and Flash storage lineups but are mostly for mainstream PCs. This time the company has brought dedicated 'AICORE' DDR5 memory for workstations, that can be overclocked up to 8000 MT/s. The memory modules can bring a capacity of up to 32 GB on each module for allowing high memory capacity on the workstations.
The AICORE R-DIMM memory brings a Registered Clock Driver for high-speed and low-latency operation, that delivers incredible reliability for large-scale data processing, AI generation, 3D rendering, graphics, video production, and various multi-tasking purposes. As per XPG, the AICORE Overclocked DDR5 R-DIMM is up to 1.6 times faster than standard R-DIMM, which suits high-performance workstations.
Similar to CUDIMM memories, which are getting hugely popular these days, the AICORE R-DIMM brings ECC(Error Correction Code) that maintains data integrity by automatically fixing the errors. It features on-die ECC and side-band ECC for accurate and reliable data transmission, which is essential for workstation computers. Furthermore, users can monitor the temperature of these R-DIMMs in real-time via the temperature sensor present on the modules.
The AICORE DDR5 R-DIMM brings 30µ gold plating for better conductivity and keeps oxidation at bay for improved durability. Even though the DIMMs don't feature premium heatsinks found on high-end gaming memories, the graphene heatsinks present on the AICORE memories can dissipate heat quickly without increasing the size of the modules, making them ideal for long-term usage and high-load computing.
The XPG AICORE Overclocked DDR5 R-DIMM memory is compatible with the Intel Xeon 4th and the gen, and AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 and PRO 7000WX processors. Equipped with Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO support, the AICORE memory can be overclocked to 6400, 7200, and 8000 MT/s at low latency without any hassles.
The initial batch will contain 16 GB capacity memory modules in single and dual kit packages but the 32 GB modules will be shipped in Q1 2025. XPG hasn't revealed its pricing yet.
