Yahoo Email Has been a Mess Since iOS 11's Launch - is the Problem with Apple or Yahoo?
Users of Yahoo Mail have noticed that their service is not working properly at all if signed in using the native iOS Mail app. Issues like the inability to send and receive mail and inboxes suddenly disappearing has been commonplace. This has been happening ever since iOS 11 launched at the end of last year. Interestingly, Yahoo is well aware of this issue and even let out a statement back in December that it is currently working on a fix for the problem. At the time of writing, it's absolutely unclear whether or not the issue lies with Apple or Yahoo itself. Now though, Yahoo has chimed in once again and has assured that everything will be resolved and the company is actively working on the solution. Here's the statement released by Yahoo on the matter:
We are aware that some Yahoo Mail users are currently seeing issues when accessing their emails through a Mail app. We apologize to those affected and are working quickly to fix it. You can try using the web or Yahoo Mail app to access your email in the meantime.
If you rely on Yahoo a lot for email, then the best thing you can do right now is download the official Yahoo Mail app either on your iPhone or iPad. It's absolutely free. But of course, having an email account signed into the Mail app has its particular set of advantages that's why people might not opt for the dedicated Yahoo Mail app just yet.
