A new stunning demo of the Zelda: Ocarina of Time fanmade remake powered by Unreal Engine 5 in development by CryZENx is now available for download, allowing fans of the game to experience a small portion of the classic game like they never did before.
The new demo, whose 30 FPS version can be downloaded for free here, showcases the stunning recreation of the Zora River in Unreal Engine 5.5.3, complete with actual gameplay mechanics that make it a worthwhile download. A 60 FPS version of the demo is also available for CryZENx Patreon supporters.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the first 3D entry in the series and is considered, still to this day, as one of the best entries in the series. As such, there's high demand for a modern remake of the game, but Nintendo seems more focused on working on new entries in the series rather than remaking older 3D games that would require way more work than the remasters released so far. Still, the remake released on Nintendo 3DS is a solid upgrade to the game, so it is definitely a game that's worth playing to experience a slightly modernized take on the classic N64 game.
